Principle of ultrasonic liquid level meter

Ultrasonic liquid level meter in the measurement of ultrasonic pulse made by sensor (transducer), sound waves by the liquid surface reflection by the same sensor after receiving or ultrasonic receiver, by piezoelectric crystal or magnetostrictive devices converted to electrical signals, and by sound waves between transmitting and receiving time to calculate the sensor to the measured distance on the surface of the liquid.

Ultrasonic liquid level meter consists of three parts: ultrasonic transducer, processing unit and output unit.

 

The working principle of

 

Working principle of the ultrasonic level meter is made by ultrasonic transducer (probe) high frequency pulse waves meet level (materials) on the surface to be tested is reflected back to the echo are converted to electrical signals received by transducer. Acoustic travel time and sound waves to object is directly proportional to the distance from the surface. The probe part emits ultrasonic wave, which is reflected by the liquid surface and received by the probe part. The distance between the probe and the liquid (object) surface is proportional to the time of ultrasonic wave:

 

Distance [m]= time × sound velocity /2[m]

 

The temperature compensation formula of sound velocity: ambient sound velocity =331.5+0.6× temperature
