The working principle of vortex flow meter is as follows:
 
Fluid oscillation principle: vortex flow meter uses fluid oscillation principle to measure flow. When the fluid passes through the vortex flow transmitter in the pipeline, two rows
of vortices proportional to the flow velocity will be generated alternately up and down behind the vortex generator of the triangular column.
Vortex generation and frequency: These vortices are called Karman vortices, which are arranged asymmetrically downstream of the vortex generator. The release frequency
of the vortex is related to the average velocity of the fluid flowing through the vortex generator and the characteristic width of the vortex generator. The relationship between the
release frequency of the vortex (f) and the average velocity of the fluid (v) and the characteristic width of the vortex generator (d) can be expressed by the following formula:
(f = \frac{St \cdot v}{d})
 
Wherein, St is the Strouhal number, which is a dimensionless number with a value range of 0.14 to 0.27.
3. Measurement and calculation: By measuring the release frequency of the vortex, the average velocity of the fluid flowing through the vortex generator can be calculated.
Then, the flow rate (q) can be calculated using the cross-sectional area (A) of the fluid flowing through the vortex generator, and the relationship is:
 
(q = A \cdot v)

 
Technical features: The vortex flowmeter has the characteristics of small pressure loss, large range, and high accuracy. When measuring the working volume flow, it is almost
unaffected by parameters such as fluid density, pressure, temperature, and viscosity. At the same time, the vortex flowmeter has no movable mechanical parts, so it has high
reliability and low maintenance.
 
Application range: Vortex flowmeters are widely used in industries such as petrochemicals, metallurgy, textiles, urban construction, energy, as well as environmental monitoring,
water resources management, etc.
 
In summary, the vortex flowmeter measures the vortex frequency generated when the fluid passes through the vortex generator in the pipeline, and then calculates the flow rate
of the fluid to achieve high-precision flow measurement.
