Electromagnetic Flow Meter CX‑EMFM‑32: Built for Cement Slurry
Measuring Cement Slurry? Here's a Real Case That Worked
Not long ago, a client came to us with a tough measurement challenge.
The fluid? Cement slurry—abrasive, dirty, and unforgiving to most flow meters.
The conditions? 1.6 MPa pressure, ambient temperature, and a flow range from 0.8 to 3 m³/h. They needed DC24V power, 4‑20mA plus RS485 output, IP65 protection, and flange
connections. A local display with a high‑frequency converter was also on the list.
And of course, accuracy had to hold at ±0.5%.
We've seen many meters fail in similar applications. Abrasive particles wear down electrodes. Moisture gets into the housing. Signals drift. Calibration becomes a weekly chore.
Here's why it worked.
The F46 liner provides excellent resistance to abrasion and chemical attack—exactly what cement slurry demands. The stainless steel plus tungsten carbide electrodes stand up to constant
particle impact without degrading. The IP65 enclosure keeps moisture and dust out, even in harsh field conditions. And the high‑frequency converter ensures stable, responsive readings
even with low‑conductivity or noisy fluids.
The result? Reliable ±0.5% accuracy, day after day. The client now has a flow meter that doesn't require constant babysitting, and their process runs smoothly without unexpected downtime.
This wasn't a lab test. It was a real installation solving a real problem.
If your application involves slurry, abrasive liquids, or challenging pressure and electrical requirements, we've been there before. We know what works and what doesn't.
